The basis of everything is relationships. Productive relationships are built through active listening, respect, honesty and sharing. Building a relationship with and between our partners is a priority.
Collaborative, participatory approaches involve collectively identifying priorities, linking diverse perspectives, and developing shared solutions to complex issues. The contribution of multiple voices and perspectives leads to better outcomes.
Capacity focuses on the ability of people and organizations to face challenges and achieve their goals. We build capacity whenever possible, formally and informally, to increase the sustainability and lasting impact of initiatives.
Prairie Fish works with Indigenous people and communities to appropriately and respectfully braid knowledge systems. This is an important part of ensuring Indigenous voices, perspectives and concerns are a part of decision-making processes.
